June favorites + NEWS

And finally. The day has come. I can remember the fear I felt a year ago when summer started and school ended because I knew that my last year of high school was coming and serious decisions had to be made with a lot of work to be done. And now it's all over. I got into college. I am ranked 10 out of 500+ who applied for the University of Architecture in Zagreb, Croatia. They accept 120 people and I am indeed number 10. I couldn't believe my own eyes when I saw how well I had done at the entrance exam. I was so happy when I got the results that I couldn't stop jumping, screaming, dancing and crying.

I feel like June was a really good month. I attended my graduation and my prom. I also celebrated my birthday with a little delay. I might post a photo of the dress I wore to my prom later. Throughout the whole month I've been wearing Chanel's Chance. I already posted a photo of that perfume in my "I'm back" post. I'm in love with its smell so much that I even spray it in my hair and on my pillows.
The mascara on the photo is Maybelline's Falsies. Even though I wasn't really content with how it behaved and what it did to my lashes in the beginning, now I'm really enjoying it. I usually apply two coats of it and my lashes look really nice. And, also, it doesn't weigh my lashes down which is really important to me because I love having curled lashes - they seem so much longer!
The blush I was wearing most of the time was Deborah's Paprika. The name still makes me giggle. It is a really pretty bronze/pink color - perfect for the summer.
There are two lipsticks that I was loving during June. One is Pink In The Afternoon by Revlon, which is a color I've previously been looking for for months. I think it just might be my all time favorite pink color because my skin is very yellow and warm toned, and it is hard to find a true warm pink.
The other lipstick is L'Oreal Caresse in Lovely Rose and while it seems like a harsh and cold baby pink, it actually gives a very sheer hint of pink while looking amazing and very refreshing.

And here's a photo of my new shoes by S. Oliver on a rainy day.

ESSENCE SEASON OF EXTREMES NEON ORANGE NAIL POLISH

This spring/summer's biggest trend are neon colors. I had to pick up this beautiful neon orange nail polish by Essence - 03 PIMP MY BRIGHT. It's from their whole line of "extreme" colors: Season of Extremes.

And when the sun finally came out after days and days of rain, my mother surprised me with beautiful orange roses which reminded me of this nail polish so I was tempted to wear it again.

COLLISTAR ROSSETTO DESIGN LIPSTICK

What is it called when your man knows you so well, he buys you a lipstick in the exact color you've been wanting for months? The very best boyfriend in the world!

My boyfriend surprised me with this beauty for Christmas. As I was removing the Christmas paper he so carefully wrapped it in (well, I'm guessing somebody did it for him, but oh well), I really didn't know what to expect. When I saw it was a lipstick, a smile appeared across my face. When I saw the color - bullseye. I had been looking for a true, nice, dark red lipstick for months, and I never seemed to find it. The ones I found were either too bright, too dark, too brown, too purple, too something. Obviously, I wasn't looking in the right places, and since I avoid expensive makeup counters because they make my heart melt away, I never knew what is hiding on them.

The color is called SCARLATTO, it is the number 11. Collistar is one of those brands on the more expensive side, so I never checked how much this lipstick costs. I think seeing the price tag would make me feel guilty.

Thank you, love. :)

DEBORAH ROSETTO MILANORED LIPSTICK

Just because I didn't mention buying make up in my "come back" post, does not mean that I have neglected my obsession with lipsticks and nail polishes. :)

This lipstick is one of my favorite lipsticks. The color is 01, a gorgeous pinky nude. When I have it on, it doesn't really make a difference to my whole look, you cannot see it from far away, but from up close, it gives my lips such a nice shine and just a touch of pinky nude color. Also, it is very moisturizing. I don't know why I am always attracted to colors like these - most girls find them pointless. I don't like pure nude lipsticks because I find the washed out look not so flattering, it's really hard to pull it off, but I love it when there's a little color involved.

I think I payed around $12 (80kn) for it a few weeks ago. The only thing I dislike about it is the scent, it's not one of those synthetic scents that you might actually like, but just a plain makeup scent, I suggest you check it out for yourself.

I AM BACK!

My last post was posted in February, I believe. That was when I got back from visiting my brother in Germany. It has been four months since and a lot of things happened. I promised I would get back to blogging after I would be done with all my finals and applications for college. Today I wrote my very last final but I won't know if I got into my desired college until mid-July so now I get to wait and enjoy life without high school and worries.

So, what exactly have I been doing in the past four months? I expanded my love for baking, enjoyed rainy and sunny days and all the delicious fruits spring and summer bring, I turned 18 along the way, fell in love with Chanel's beauty line and bought many, and I guess you could add unnecessary, pairs of shoes.

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?! + MATTE AQUA NAILS

Hello my lovely readers, I'm back from being the worst blogger ever. And I'm ashamed to admit that. I'm that type of person that enjoys doing many things at once, so it's very easy for me to leave some behind for a while and get back to them.

After I returned from my trip from Germany, I started getting into beauty retouching. I've been using Photoshop for ages, but just recently I discovered all the secrets of the industry and how much time is invested to turn a raw photo from a studio to a high fashion one you'll end up looking at in the magazines. And trust me, you have no idea what hides behind those retouched photos you most likely admire.

Aside from that, I've been preparing for college. My dream has always been to study architecture and it does take work if you want to get in since the college only accepts 120 people. Hope I'll be one of them. Enough of small talk.

Three days ago I bought Essence's nail art special effect! topper. It's a matte topcoat that turns every nail polish into a matte one. The reason why I bought it is that I started loving that nice, satin, matte finish and instead of looking for the colors that I like in matte edition, this is a perfect, and very cheap solution.

Excuse the shortness of my nails, I've tried to regrow them several times already and this is another try.

GALAXY NAILS

I've been gone for a long time. But I'm back. My nails were having a rough time for the past few weeks and I was too ashamed to post photos of them online. Also, this is not going to be a post about my ring collection because, at the moment, I am in Germany visiting my brother. And you know what that means - an excuse to buy tons of stuff!

I've been wanting to get Essence's Time for Romance glitter nail polish for the longest time, ever since I fell in love with Make it Golden. So I bought that and a plain black nail polish because I hadn't owned one for about 2 years. Today, after the regrowth process of my nails had finally finished, I painted my nails black.

On top of that I added Essence's Time for Romance.

I am really loving this. I was left with galaxy/outer space-like looking nails and I think I'm going to be wearing the combination of these two nail polishes on my nails a lot. I'll try to experiment by adding some white dots or specks and other colors with a simple sponge to make it more three-dimensional. How did you spend the winter holidays?
